Picking the Perfect Spring Wetsuit
When choosing your spring wetsuit there is more to consider than just the thickness of the neoprene. You are venturing from your 5:3 winter wetsuit into a spring variation which can take you all the way into July, it is hard to judge what you need from a wetsuit at this time of year to stay warm… but not too warm.
Cropped Wetsuits
The classic spring suit is either a 4:3 or a 3:2 thickness but the cropped variation of these wetsuits is also a great option and has grown in popularity over the past few years, and will be bigger than ever in 2017.
This style of wetsuit has long arms, as on a full wetsuit, but the legs are slightly cropped to a three quarter length. This keep the wearer a little cooler on the legs without having to pick a thinner neoprene, meaning the your core can stay toasty. The 3/4 wetsuit is a particularly popular design with wakeboarder and kite surfers who have boots and bindings to contend with. It is a great compromise between a shorty and a full summer wetsuit.
O’Neill and Mystic will be launching a long arm, cropped wetsuit for 2017. Most brands will have stock of their summer 2017 wetsuit collection by the end of February, all available to order on the King of Watersports website, but one brand is available to order now..
