In its 3rd year now, the Naish N1SCO One Design SUP 2015 Championships will be held on the 11th July at the White Sands of Weymouth Bay in Dorset. The bay is blessed with waist deep sheltered waters, right in the centre of the holiday town.
Racing is unique as it is all on Naish One 12’6 inflatables so it’s a completely level playing field where he or she who paddles hardest will ultimately win. This is the concept of N1SCO racing and throughout the season it has been showcased at the UK SUP club events around the country where N1SCO racing has had its own fleet and start.
The National Championships will see the biggest fleet yet hit the water in the UK and those who do not own a Naish One are very welcome too. Naish UK will be providing the option to rent a board for the day or of course bring your own should you be a lucky owner. The event is aimed to be serious fun rather than taking itself too seriously. All paddlers are welcome and current entrants range from seasoned racers to those competing for the first time having only just taken up the sport. During the day, local SUP school Adventure 4 All will be offering SUP taster sessions for those wanting to give SUP a go.
The days racing will be split into three races; Sprints, Mid distance sprints and a longer distance race (2-3 miles) so all distances are designed to be attainable by everyone. It will be the accumulation of your three results that decide your overall position. Naish UK are offering an expenses paid trip to the N1SCO World Championships for the winning male and female at the Nationals so plenty to play for.
Further information on the Nationals and everything N1SCO UK is available on their Facebook page.
