The Cabrinha Switchblade has been a staple diet for the King of Watersports kite surfers for 10 years now and the 2015 version marks the Switchblade’s tenth year anniversary.

It is interesting when you look at the evolution of the Cabrinha switchblade over the past four years. In 2012 the kite had its historic grunt and power but the bar pressure too was in our opinion, too high. In 2013 Cabrinha tried to resolve the bar pressure issue by moving the bridal further forward on the kite, by doing so it reduced the power output of the kite. In 2014 they got is right! Perfect power delivery with the correct amount of bar pressure. 2015 has seen refinements to the characteristics of the kite, making it more user friendly. The Cabrinha Overdrive 1X Bar too has changed for 2015 with a DE-cluttering of the bar, it is now a very simple push away system which is very easy to use and very easy reassembling after deployment.

Who is the Cabrinha 2015 Switchblade for?

After testing out the lastest version of the Cabrinha Switchblade, we feel the Switchblade is the one kite that the majority of riders would like, beginner right though to advanced. The kite offers stable performance, excellent depower with an excellent safety system so is ideal for beginners, the construction also offers robust performance with the double rip stop material. These characteristics also help experienced riders to explore all freestyle riding opportunities. The  kite can also cross the wave boundary, offering great drifting characteristics and turning speed.
