The Cabrinha Switchblade is the perfect all rounder kite and this year, for 2015 the Cabrinha Switchblade is more user friendly than ever before.
For 2015 Cabrinha have focused on customer feed back of the best selling 2014 Cabrinha Switchblade. The bladder ends have been reinforced with new LE closures to make sure the kite holds it shape session after kitesurfing session. The new refined bridle and the upgraded strut to leading edge connection makes the 2015 Switchblade much more stable than the 2014 version, prefect for beginner kitesurfers and maintaining consistency through out your trick attempts.
The attention to detail and consideration that Cabrinha has given the the new 2015 Switchblade is reflected in the mirror construction technique that they have used to make sure that the left and right hand side of the kite are identical. This is created by cutting the panels from the same piece of cloth, this means that the qualities and features of the fabric are as close to identical as it is possible to get and they should not twist or warp over time. This new feature and the canopy of Cabrinha’s double rip stop fabric mean that this kite should last you years and years. This attention to detail and quality design is the reason that these great kites hold their value so well year on year.
For 2015 Cabrinha have brought back the fixed bar. It is still essential that you use either a 2014 Overdrive bar or one of the new 2015 Cabrinha bars on the 2015 switchblade and the other Cabrinha Kites. Any bar made from 2013 or earlier can not be used in these kites. This is because Cabrinha have moved the safety system from the kite to the bar. This would mean that a 2014 or 2015 Cabrinha Kite with a 2013 Cabrinha Bar would have no safety system at all and would be very dangerous. I don’t want to confuse you too much but the general rule of thumb is that any Cabrinha Kite can be flown with a 2014 (or later) bar, the 2014 and 2015 Kites have to be flown with a 2014 or late bar. Cabrinha have said that they will not change this system again, so it is definitely worth investing in one of these new bars.
The adjustable Overdrive bar changes size to fit your full quiver of kites, also increasing the already huge wind range of the Cabrinha kites even further. Or you could go for the fixed bar, this is good if you only have one Cabrinha kite in your quiver.
