Uruau is a beautiful beach located on the Rising Sun coast, 90 km South of Fortaleza. This little paradise is now second home for the world´s best riders in freestyle, like Youri Zoon and Alberto Rondina. Why? Because Uruau offers a variety of riding, from flat water on the laggon to 0,5 or 1 metre waves in the warm ocean. The sweet-waterlagoon is situated between the sand dunes and the huge beach!

Either to train on some new tricks or enjoy the sunshine of Ceara, Uruau is a must see when you head to Northeast Brazil. As a rule; when the east side is cranking, head west in search of less wind, that normally is stronger in the morning in this side. More and more people each year are traveling to the west coast because the beaches are un-crowded and Uruau is the right place if you want to be far from the party scene that some other spots have a reputation for. But if that is not your case, at night you can hit the road the famous Canoa Quebrada Beach and have fun!

To guarantee wind on your visit book between August and December, during these months you will be sure to spend everyday on the water. The perfect kite size is in between 9 and 12m. No wind in the afternoon? No problem. Uruaú offers a choice of activities: discovering the nature walking along the white sandy beaches, feeling unique emotions on a sand buggy drive through the dunes or having a swim in the calm ocean are some of the options.

Getting There

Getting there is easy; just take the CE040 out of Fortaleza and drive for an hour towards Beberibe. There you take a small road towards Praia do Uruaú. Safe travels!

Accommodation

Pro Kite Brazil is a funky kite school right on the beach. There you can chill by the pool and drink coconuts before and after your kite sessions.
